A beautiful white labrador was brought in to the clinic by two lovely young girls. They had spotted him on the highway close to the airport and immediately stopped their car and ran over to him. The poor boy was in such a terrible condition, just a skeleton, and at least 20 kilos underweight. They knew that they couldn’t leave him there so, with no regard for their clothes or car, they gently picked him up and carried him and placed into their car and drove to us.
Around 2 years old he is now safe and undergoing assessment and medical treatment starting on his road to recovery. We will keep you updated on his progress and he will eventually be looking for a loving home.
It was the first time the two girls had been to us and they were amazed at the work we do, so much so that they both offered to give up their time to do some voluntary work for which we are eternally grateful. This case clearly demonstrates that attitudes towards animal welfare are changing in Cyprus and that the educational programmes are working. A wonderful reward for all the work that we and others are doing.
