History

Animal Rescue Cyprus, as it is known today, was founded in 1982, when it was known as Cyprus Cat Protection (CCP) and Animal Welfare, to provide shelter for stray cats and dogs.
In 1994 it became Paphiakos & CCP Animal Welfare a registered charity No.1529 entrusted with promoting the aims of the Cyprus Government for improving animal welfare throughout the island and is now operating as Animal Rescue Cyprus, a registered charity N0.4420.
AAW & CCP is the veterinary clinic that provides veterinary services to ARC.
Animal ARC and Paphiakos Group are brand names under the ARC banner.

Largest and busiest No Kill animal shelter

We are the oldest, largest and busiest No Kill animal shelter in Cyprus and in the Eastern Mediterranean, home to around 1500 animals, dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, goats and rabbits. Over 2000 animals cross our doorstep every year needing rescuing, treating, feeding and of course finding them their forever homes.

Responsible pet ownership

We are dedicated to preventing cruelty and relieving the suffering of animals of any kind, without compromise, promoting responsible pet ownership, reducing the number of unwanted animals on the island by birth control and educating people of all ages into the respect of animals.
