Education and Training

Education and Training

A key part of what we do is to promote responsible animal welfare especially amongst younger people. In addition to our work within schools and the community we also open our doors to veterinary students and graduates to give them first hand practical experience of animal welfare.

Educational Programme In Public & Private Schools

The aim of the programme is to provide attendees with an insight into the RESPECT for animals and everything entailed by looking after an animal. Ultimately, the scope is behaviour education to create BEHAVIOUR CHANGE.

Extra Mural Studies Programme

With the same aim of educating the present generation into the spirit of animal welfare, the organisation has long developed a programme for students in veterinary medicine.
Starting from their 3rd year of studies, students from universities around Europe and elsewhere in the world may apply for a period of a minimum of 14 days of spay & neuter experience with the Animal Aid Welfare clinic.
Partnerships with the veterinary medicine departments in universities have so far helped hundreds of students gain vital experience in the field of spaying and neutering animals.

Erasmus Programme For Young Graduates & Young Entrepreneurs

Young graduates and entrepreneurs from all over Europe can apply for an Erasmus grant to go on location in other European countries to practice their professions in companies and organisations. An average of 10-12 such people come to Animal Rescue Cyprus every year to work in the veterinary, shelter management and medicine field. They are doing invaluable work alongside our resident staff, and help with any jobs that may need doing. This is helping them grasp the dimension and variety of the work being done here at ARC and get a feel of how different departments of an animal welfare organisation and a veterinarian clinic are run.
