Frequently Asked Questions
ARC is home to hundreds of rescue dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, donkeys, horses, goats and small animals all looking for a loving home.
Below are some of the frequently asked questions regarding adoption, making a donation, getting involved and animal rescue.
Adoption
I visited the shelter while I was on holiday and would like to adopt one of your rescue animals, how do I go about it?

How much are the adoption fees?
We do not sell our animals. When you adopt a pet from ARC your adoption fee covers the cost of your pet being sterilised, tested for internal and external parasites and viruses, vaccinated, and for dogs microchipped.
How much does it cost to send an animal overseas?
This will depend upon the country as each country has their own set of regulations, requirements and fees. Our expert team will advise you on this as well as the cost of travel.
How should I introduce my new pet into the house, especially with small children?
When you choose to adopt a pet, we will discuss with you your family circumstances to ensure that your pet is a good fit with your family. Our re-homing team will talk to you about this at length as any pet is a long-term commitment for you and your family
How should I introduce my new dog to my old dog?
This is where it is so important to choose the right dog and breed and our re-homing will guide you on this and how to introduce another pet into your household.
Donate
How can I donate to the charity?
You can donate via PayPal using email address: sponsor@animalwelfarecyprus.com or scanning our QR code or by bank transfer or by coming into our clinic or our shelter and making a donation. You can set up a recurring monthly payment through our PayPal or by setting up a standing order through your bank.
I would like to leave a gift in my will, how do I go about it?
Leaving a gift in your will is a wonderful gesture and we really do appreciate it. Speak with whoever prepared your will and they will be able to advise how you can include it. You can then contact our accounts team who will be happy to help you.
Can I make a donation that is tax deductible?
Yes, as a fully registered charity both individuals and businesses can make donations that are tax deductible. Speak with your financial advisor who can explain to you how you can do this.
Can I sponsor an animal?
Yes, we would love you to! If you live in Cyprus pop down to our clinic reception and fill out a sponsorship form for the animal you wish to sponsor or if you live overseas send us an email to sponsor@cyprusanimalwelfare.com
Can I donate by credit card?
Of course. Please visit our clinic reception or call us on +357 26 946461 and we can take a payment over the phone.
Get Involved
Where do I take items that I want to donate to the shelter and charity stores?
Please bring the items you’d like to donate to our reception at the clinic or for larger items, ring reception on 26946461 to arrange a collection.
Who do I contact if I want to volunteer?
Call into our clinic reception to fill out a volunteer form. Ask for the person dealing with volunteer helpers.
Who do I talk to if I want to arrange a charity event?
Please give us a call on +357 26 946461 or call at the clinic reception and ask for the person dealing with events.
Animal Rescue
What should I do if I see an injured animal in need of help?
If you are able to contain the animal, bring it to our clinic reception for rescue or treatment. Alternatively, ring our clinic reception on 26 946461 to report the location of the animal.
What are the opening hours? Can I visit the shelter?
Our clinic is open every day from 7am until 7pm.
Our shelter is open to the public every day from 11am to 4pm. We would love you to come visit us.
For rescues our clinic is open from 7am to 7pm and the shelter from 7pm until 7am 365 days of the year.
How can I help there?
There are many areas at the shelter to volunteer from dog walking, dog, cat, rabbit, donkey and horse grooming and cleaning.
How do I arrange an educational trip to the shelter?
Please ring our clinic reception on 26 946461 and ask for our education department.
