This is the story of Snowy. Snowy was surrendered to us by his owner who had clearly been struggling to care for him. He was in a very poor condition when he arrived. His coat was so thickly matted and weighing him down. His teeth were dark grey and rotting and it was very clear that his body was struggling to cope.
Immediately our wonderful clinical team went into action, running tests and setting to work on removing the burdening heavy coat.
After what seemed an age, underneath the thick coat was a beautiful dog starting to emerge. Very scared and timid he was given a fabulous spa treatment on his aching body and placed into a kennel with a heated mat, lots of food, toys and treats.
Over the coming days he was given dental treatment to help him eat more easily but sadly tests showed that the lack of care over the years had resulted in irreversible liver damage. Last week his condition worsened and it was decided that it was his time. As we were about to administer the injection suddenly show lifted his head bolt upright and looked around as if to say. I am not ready to go just yet!
He may not have much time left with us but Snowy will be given all the love and care he needs to make sure his remaining days are as happy and as comfortable as they can be. We love you Snowy.
