Two female huskies came in as separate rescue cases recently, both in very bad medical condition. They are now under our medical care and will remain so for the foreseeable future as it will take a considerable time to get them fit and well.
Their care and treatment have been made possible thanks to sponsorship and medical bills being covered by our wonderful long-time supporters, The Lodge.
Both huskies were in need of urgent medical care and are responding well to treatment. We shared photos of the younger husky when she arrived and Stacy has named her Saskia. When she is fully recovered, she will be looking for a home.
The older husky is around 9 years old with heart problems, Stacy has named her Kahlo. Given her medical condition it may not be possible to re-home her unless we can find the right person, if not then she will enjoy her twilight years with us.
Once again, it is testimony to how far this country has come in animal welfare that owners now feel that they can bring their animals to us without being judged, regardless of the condition of their animal.
