Mia was brought into the clinic with a badly broken front leg. Her owners said they didn’t want her back because she was the wrong colour!
Mia then spent almost nine months in the care of the veterinary staff at the clinic who tried everything to mend her leg. Doctor Philipos is one of the best orthopaedic surgeons there is and even tried expensive bone grafts to save her leg. She endured numerous operations and was in considerable pain. Everyone fell in love with her. She was completely spoilt and fed on rotisserie chicken, she had her own bed with the nurses and was their constant companion.
You would often see her being comforted and carried around by one of the nurses, Stella. Frequently Stella would take her home to comfort her when she was in so much pain.
Despite the amazing medical care and love she was given nothing could repair the damage that had been done and sadly the decision was taken to amputate the leg.
Fate intervened and one of ARC’s most loyal supporters came in wanting to adopt a dog and Mia had found her forever home. Within two days of the operation, she was up and learning to walk and run again, completely pain free.
Quite the diva, she soon settled in to her new life, totally spoilt and loves going on long walks having adapted brilliantly. She loves nothing better than to chase her cat playmates around the garden at high speed and is an absolutely amazing foster mum to any kittens that have been rescued. Live the best life Mia.
